Re: [LeadersWorkshop] How ethical we are!

Just a couple of points, someone may or may not like to answer:
  1. The same yardstick applies to stories also, for example.  What is there to be explained by the author?  And for any article, if we have to get back to the author to seek 'explanation' to understand it, what is the use of such an article?
  2. Even if we agree that the author only understands his / her article the best, how would we approach the author, if the name itself is made invisible?
  3. Websites like ezinearticles.com very clearly mention that their articles may be republished only with complete author box and active links.
  4. Even otherwise, there is something known as the Copyright Act.  If something which is even illegal is not considered unethical, NO COMMENTS.

I don't see any major ethical issues in re-posting articles someone authored.  I would see this as an issue if
1.  The re-sender suddenly claimed he/she authored it.
2.  He/she is profiting from it and still doesn't acknowledge the auther

Just my two cents worth.  I would in fact appreciate people sharing about my ideas even without acknowledging me because at the end of the day, I know how my idea/article works and what's the reason behind it.  Ultimately, I'm still the best person to explain it.

Dear Friends,

It really gives you a great feeling to see your name in the print.  People do appreciate when you share good articles on various forums lime Yahoo groups.

But is it really ethical to pass it on as your creativity without mentioning even name of the authors.  I was shocked to see some such cases.  In fact, was able to catch it fast, when I saw that these articles were authored by me.  It may be taken as a complaint by the moderators (if they care!).

But, in fact I would invite your mature responses - including from the friends who are very active on the net and are indulging into such practice.

Regards,

Ashok Grover
