I was probably going to give it till mid week. I think if nothing is done then the S&P may move to downgrade US credit rating. That happened a few years back and stocks plummeted 15% in one day. They waited till after the closing bell so of course everyone stuck in stocks was killed. It recovered pretty quickly (a few months) after the debt deal was made.
