I am looking at the daily prices of the G fund and it appears that on weekends and holidays — when the markets are "asleep", the G funds keep on working and provide a return. Even with the restrictions on trading, it looks like it is a viable strategy to buy the G fund on a Friday and sell back into the markets on a Monday or a holiday Tuesday. For example moving $100,000 on Friday Aug 30 and selling on Tuesday Sept 3 would add $18.45. Do that 12x per year and you added $221 for the price of a few clicks. Yes, you could lose out from time to time on a big gain on a Monday/Tuesday morning (or avoid a big loss) but in exchange for a 2 or 3 day return when nothing else is going on seems like some — ok a little — free money. Am I missing something?
