It may be true that it is important in the early years to work more to grow in the career, but at what cost? if there is no work life balance I have observed lot of issues between partners or worst not accepting at the time when he is intrested in her

Hello everyone,
While it is true that a lot of us clamor for a work-life balance let us not forget that there are many people that actually love to be the "24*7" go-to-guys and companies celebrate and lionize them with huge rewards. The point is there will always be some one who is going to out-work you for more money or more recognition or whatever. I have seen many top executives who have committed their whole lives and then they get some occassional flexibility to go for corporate outings (Boondoggle events) and do fun stuff. So each person must decide for himself what he/she wants in life and not blindly imitate.
