[LeadersWorkshop] Your Subconscious Power

[LeadersWorkshop] Your Subconscious Power

YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS MAINTAINS ALL YOUR BODILY SYSTEMS -
Jonathan parker, Phd
One of the biggest jobs of your subconscious is to control all your autonomic bodily functions such as breathing, heartbeat, eye-blinking, and digestion. It also controls metabolism, which is the process whereby the living cells of your body are provided vital energy by the assimilation of food substances.

If such tasks were left to your conscious mind, think of how literally mind-boggling something as simple as breathing would be: "OK, I've got to remember to breathe. Now, it's time to inhale. Now exhale Uh oh, look over there - there's my fiend. He looks pretty still. I bet he forgot to breathe again. I'd better poke him."

Even while you are asleep, the ceaseless action of your subconscious mind controls your dream state, keeping your eyes, ears, and other senses active. In fact, many great scientists and inventors have "seen" the answers to perplexing problems in a dream.
Your subconscious is naturally geared toward preserving your life and maintaining balance in all of your bodily systems. It's just that other factors, as you will soon see, interfere with this natural process.

LIKE A VIDEO CAMERA, YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS RECORDS YOUR EVERY EXPERIENCE
The subconscious is the storehouse of your memory. In fact, some scientists believe every detail of every event that's ever happened to you is recorded in your inner mind.
Like a video recorder, your subconscious accurately takes in virtually everything you experience. This means that, technically speaking, you don't really forget anything.
If you were to think of the subconscious as a giant filing cabinet, imagine that stored within it are the memories of everything that's ever happened to you, including everything you've ever read, learned, or been taught. When you want to consciously remember something, you send a signal to the subconscious. In turn the appropriate 'files" are opened, read, and sent to the conscious mind. Sometimes, though, for various reasons, the signals get confused and the subconscious doesn't respond by sending the information to the conscious mind. The conscious mind then perceives it has forgotten something. In reality you haven't forgotten. You've simply been unable to retrieve the information from the subconscious. You can't consciously direct your subconscious to release detailed information about "forgotten" events. But certain techniques that involve deep relaxation can enable you to bypass the conscious mind, directly access the subconscious, and search for information there.

The Wooden Bowl
Keep scrolling down for the story and to check out the date this was started at the end!

The Wooden Bowl
I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now,
a year from now.

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year
-old grandson.
The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered.
The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and
failing sight made eating difficult.. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor.
When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.
The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess.
'We must do something about father,' said the son.

'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.'
So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner.

There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner.
Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl.
When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone.

Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.
The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor.

He asked the child sweetly, 'What are you making?' Just as sweetly, the boy responded,
'Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up. '

The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.
The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks.. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.
That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.

For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason,
neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.
On a positive note, I've learned that, no matter what happens, how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.
I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles four things:

a rainy day,the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.
I've learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as making a 'life.'
I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.
I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw
 something back sometimes.
I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you.
But, if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you.
I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.
I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.
I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone.
People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.
I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.
I've learned that you should pass this on to everyone you care about. I just did!

[LeadersWorkshop] You Have Inside Your MInd!

[LeadersWorkshop] You Have Inside Your MInd!

YOUR INNER GENIUS - Jonathan Parker, Phd

Perhaps it's no coincidence that the word "genie" is related to the Latin word for "genius." A lot of people think of genius only as a rare phenomenon found in a few gifted individuals - a term applied to a brilliant scientist, a master artist, a musical virtuoso. In reality, each and every person is born with an inner genius which, like a magical genie, can release inner forces enabling us to accomplish far more than we ever believed possible. That's because genius is really just a natural way the human mind works to solve a problem or meet a challenge - any challenge, including weight loss. The key is knowing how to tap into your own inner genius.

The source of your genius is your inner or subconscious mind, which has had a powerful effect in directing every aspect of your life from the time of your birth up until now.

YOUR CONSCIOUS MIND: THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG
Of course you only have one mind. But, as you probably know, it consists of two different levels of activity, two "systems:" the conscious and the subconscious.

Your conscious mind is the logical, reasoning portion of your mind with which you are most familiar. It uses the five senses to gather information that enables you to learn about your physical environment. IT represents your awareness of yourself, other, and your surroundings Most of your daily activities also fall under its direction. You talk to your friends, go about your business, and do whatever you normally do, mainly through consciously determining to take certain actions.

Apart from directing ordinary activities, the conscious mind is also the source of your intellect and reasoning capabilities. It's what in most cases you are referring to when you say, "I think." V The conscious mind allows you to analyze data and approve at logical conclusions. This reasoning process is used when solving problems, writing letters or reports, working on the job, building a house, balancing your checkbook - for just about anything you might do day in and day out.

As important as your conscious thought processes and actions may seem, however, they are to a very great extent guided by a much deeper level of mental activity - your subconscious mind.

YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND: "THE POWER TO MOVE THE WORLD!"
According to the dictionary, one of the definitions of "genius" is "a guardian spirit." In many respects this accurately describes your subconscious or inner mind. Over 90 percent of your mental activity is subconscious - yet its work is done without you even being aware of it. It's on the job while you're awake and asleep, 24 hours a day.

It is the builder and sustainer of your body, the seat of your knowledge, emotions, and habits, and it has a powerful effect on the events that take place in your life. In fact, William James, the father of American psychology, said, "The power to move the world is in the subconscious mind." What he meant is that it is not what is outside of us that really determines what happens in our lives - how prosperous we are, whether we are happy or not, our health, and yes, even our physical appearance, including weight - it is all what is on the inside that determines out lives.

The Eyes of Love

A grandmother and a little girl whose face was sprinkled with bright red freckles spent the day at the zoo.  The children were waiting in line to get their cheeks painted by a local artist who was decorating them with tiger paws.
'You've got so many freckles, there's no place to paint!' a boy in the line cried.
Embarrassed, the little girl dropped her head. Her grandmother knelt down next to her. 'I love your freckles,' she said.
'Not me,' the girl replied.
'Well, when I was a little girl I always wanted freckles,' she said, tracing her finger across the child's cheek. 'Freckles are beautiful!'
The girl looked up. 'Really?'
'Of course,' said the grandmother. 'Why, just name me one thing that's prettier than freckles.'
The little girl peered into the old woman's smiling face. 'Wrinkles,' she answered softly.

Shabbar's Mission: "To help others to see the best in themselves"

There once lived a great mathematician in a village outside Ujjain . He was often called by the local king to advice on matters related to the economy. His reputation had spread as far as Taxila in the North and Kanchi in the South. So it hurt him very much when the village headman told him, "You may be a great mathematician who advises the king on economic matters but your son does not know the value of gold or silver."

The mathematician called his son and asked, "What is more valuable - gold or silver?" "Gold," said the son. "That is correct. Why is it then that the village headman makes fun of you, claims you do not know the value of gold or silver? He teases me every day. He mocks me before other village elders as a father who neglects his son. This hurts me. I feel everyone in the village is laughing behind my back because you do not know what is more valuable, gold or silver. Explain this to me, son."

So the son of the mathematician told his father the reason why the village headman carried this impression. "Every day on my way to school, the village headman calls me to his house. There, in front of all village elders, he holds out a silver coin in one hand and a gold coin in other. He asks me to pick up the more valuable coin. I pick the silver coin. He laughs, the elders jeer, everyone makes fun of me. And then I go to school. This happens every day. That is why they tell you I do not know the value of gold or silver."

The father was confused. His son knew the value of gold and silver, and yet when asked to choose between a gold coin and silver coin always picked the silver coin. "Why don't you pick up the gold coin?" he asked. In response, the son took the father to his room and showed him a box. In the box were at least a hundred silver coins. Turning to his father, the mathematician' s son said, "The day I pick up the gold coin the game will stop. They will stop having fun and I will stop making money."

The bottom line is...
Sometimes in life, we have to play the fool because our seniors and our peers, and sometimes even our juniors like it. That does not mean we lose in the game of life. It just means allowing others to win in one arena of the game, while we win in the other arena of the game. We have to choose which arena matters to us and which arenas do not.

[LeadersWorkshop] 5 Keys to Living in Balance - Deepak Chopra

[LeadersWorkshop] 5 Keys to Living in Balance - Deepak Chopra

5 Keys to Living in Balance

5 Keys to Living in Balance

1. Know that the world "out there" reflects your reality "in here." The people you react to most strongly, whether with love or hate, are projections of your inner world. What you most love is what you most wish for in yourself. Use the mirror of relationships to guide your evolution. The goal is total self-knowledge. When you achieve that, what you most want will automatically be there, and what you most dislike will disappear.

2. Shed the burden of judgment – you will feel much lighter. Judgment imposes right and wrong on situations that just are. Everything can be understood and forgiven, but when you judge, you cut off understanding and shut down the process of learning to love. In judging others, you reflect your lack of self-acceptance. Remember that every person you forgive adds to your self-love.

3. Don't contaminate your body with toxins, either through food , drink, or toxic emotions. Your body is more than a life-support system. It is the vehicle that will carry you on the journey of your evolution. The health of every cell directly contributes to your state of well-being, because every cell is a point of awareness within the field of awareness that is you.

4. Replace fear-motivated behavior with love-motivated behavior. Fear is the product of memory, which dwells in the past. Trying to impose the past on the present will never wipe out the threat of being hurt. That happens only when you find the security of your own being, which is love. Motivated by the truth inside you, you can face any threat because your inner strength is invulnerable to fear.

5. Understand that the physical world is just a mirror of a deeper intelligence. Intelligence is the invisible organizer of all matter and energy, and since a portion of this intelligence resides in you, you share in the organizing power of the cosmos. Because you are inseparably linked to everything, you cannot afford to foul the planet's air and water. But at a deeper level, you cannot afford to live with a toxic mind, because every thought makes an impression on the whole field of intelligence. Living in balance and purity is the highest good for you and the Earth.
