I understand the concept but that sounds strategic and not Like u were sick. Those days are given if sick or for dr appts. I  Agree sick could be depressed in some situations but if not used for that then it is, at least to me, unethical. No judgement just how I personally see it.

Well I just retired in December 2019. I used like 24 days of sick leave during 2019. The reason is you only get credit for sick leave in 30 day increments. I used  a table to convert unused sick leave into additional service. If I had not done that I would of given uncle sam 24 days of sick leave. So would have lost them.

Wow what horrible advise. This is literally screwing over your peers. You do not have a 4 day a week job you have a 5. If you have that much stress then find a different job.

I do not care how politically incorrect that sounds, this advise is selfish!

Yeah, he was technically wrong when he said that they "can't" deny sick leave, but I'm sure he's thinking of his own agency's rules or union contract.  What they can't do is treat you differently than everyone else for no reason.  That's not even getting into the FMLA legality.

Look, when you're 50 or 60 some years old, it's not going to be difficult to get your doctor to say you need less stress in your life.  Stress kills.  Take a day off every week and go get a massage.  Or go to the chiropracter (and get a massage).  Or go for a hike.  Or go to the beach.  Or go sit on your porch.  It doesn't matter what you're actually doing if your doctor gives you a note saying you are under his/her care and that you need Mondays and Fridays off every week to improve your health.
