[LeadersWorkshop] Positive Couple indeed to whom we can look upto

Once there was loving couple travelling in a bus in a mountainous area. They decided to get down at some place. After the couple gotdown at some place the bus moved on,As the bus moved on, a huge rock fell on the bus from the mountain and crushed the bus to crumbs.Everybody on board was killed. The couple upon seeing that, said, "We wish we were on that bus"

Why do u think they said that??

If they had remained on the bus instead of deciding to get down, the resulting time delay could have been avoided and the rock would have fallen after the bus had passed ..!!!

Think positive in life always and look for opportunities when you can help Others...

"Many times in life, the opposite of Success is not Failure, its Quitting"

"Winners never quit, quitters never Win"

Pray God to bless us to think positive in any situation and surely we shall win our self confidence.

Look upto people and they shall look upto You

Let go your EGO!

There was once a learned scientist..

After a lot of practice and efforts, he developed a formula and learned the art of reproducing himself. He did it so perfectly that it was impossible to tell the reproduction from the original.
...
One day while doing his research, he realized that the Angel of Death was searching for him. In order to remain immortal he reproduced a dozen copies of himself. The reproduction was so meticulous that all of them looked exactly like him. Now when this Angel of Death came down, he was at a loss to know which of the thirteen before him was the original scientist, and confused, he left them all alone and returned back to heaven.

But, not for long, for being an expert in human nature, the Angel came up with a clever idea. He said to the scientist addressing all thirteen of them, "Sir, you must be a genius to have succeeded in making such perfect reproduction formula of yourself. However, I have discovered a flaw in your work, just one tiny little flaw."

The scientist immediately jumped out and shouted, Impossible! where is the flaw?" "Right here" said the Angel, as he picked up the scientist from among the reproductions and carried him off.

The whole purpose of the scientist and his formula of reproduction failed as he could not control his pride and lost his life.
You let go your ego in order to succeed.

[LeadersWorkshop] Physical and Mental Health

[LeadersWorkshop] Physical and Mental Health

Physical and Mental Health
A Physical illness and the treatment, both, can affect our Mental Health. This document will help you to understand the effect of Physical illness on our Mental health.
A serious physical illness can affect our day to day life, relationships, work and our socializing with other people.
A serious illness can make us feel sad, frightened, worried or angry.
It may be because:
  • You feel out of control of your body. You may feel that there is nothing that you can do.
  • You feel lonely and isolated from family and friends. Sometimes it can be difficult to talk about the illness with those close to you. You don't want to worry or upset them. For some of us, the emotional impact of a serious physical illness can be overwhelming. Cancer or heart disease, for example, can make us very anxious and depressed. It can stop us from doing the things we need to do in our daily lives.
Anxiety and depression affect both our mind and body. Often the two happen at the same time.

Anxiety feels like:
  • constant worrying thoughts, often about the illness and its treatment
  • fearing the worst, for example, that your illness will get worse or that you might die
  • being very aware of your heart beating (palpitations)
  • tension and pains in your muscles
  • being unable to relax
  • sweating
  • breathing too fast (hyperventilating)
  • feeling dizzy
  • feeling faint
  • indigestion and diarrhea
Depression feels like:
  • feelings of unhappiness that don't go away, and are there nearly all the time
  • losing interest in life
  • being unable to enjoy anything
  • finding it hard to make even simple decisions
  • feeling utterly tired
  • feeling restless and agitated
  • losing appetite and weight (some people find they do the reverse and put on weight)
  • difficulty in sleeping and waking up earlier than usual
  • losing interest in sex
  • losing self-confidence and feeling useless, inadequate and hopeless
  • avoiding other people
  • feeling irritable
  • feeling hopeless about yourself, your situation and the world generally - you may feel as if you are never going to get better, or that you are worthless
  • thinking of suicide - this is common in depression. It is much better to talk about it than to try to hide it.
Some of these symptoms, such as feeling tired, poor sleep and loss of appetite, may be similar to those caused by the physical illness or its treatment.
  • People become depressed and anxious when they are stressed for any reason. Being ill and having treatment are stressful. This is probably the most common reason.
  • Some drug treatments, such as steroids, affect the way the brain works and so cause anxiety and depression directly.
  • Some physical illnesses, such as an under-active thyroid, affect the way the brain works. They cause anxiety and depression directly.
  • Anxiety and depression are common. You may just happen by chance to become anxious or depressed at the same time as you become physically ill.
In our next mail we will discuss different Mental Health Issues such as
·         Anxiety Disorder
·         Depression
·         Stress
·         Phobia
·         Delusions
·         Paranoia
·         Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders
·         Social Anxiety Disorders
·         Post Traumatic Stress Disorders

[LeadersWorkshop] Why People Shout in Anger?

[LeadersWorkshop] Why People Shout in Anger?

Why People Shout In Anger"

A Saint who was visiting river Ganges to take bath found a group of family members on the banks, shouting in anger at each other. He turned to his disciples smiled and asked.

'Why do people shout in anger shout at each other?'

Disciples thought for a while, one of them said, 'Because we lose our calm, we shout.'

'But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you? You can as well tell him what you have to say in a soft manner.' asked the saint

Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the other disciples.
Finally the saint explained, .

'When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other to cover that great distance.

What happens when two people fall in love? They don't shout at each other but talk softly, Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is either nonexistent or very small...'

The saint continued, 'When they love each other even more, what happens?
They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that's all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.'

He looked at his disciples and said.

'So when you argue do not let your hearts get distant, Do not say words that distance each other more, Or else there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to return.'

Now you can learn to manage your anger as well as excel in your communication with powerful psychometric battery of assessments like CPA - Communication Pattern Analysis based on the research of Eric Berne, FITS - Heredity Personality traits based on Carl Jung and 4C's based on the William Marston. You can develop and improve your communication to excel in your life and career. Afterall communication is the secret to one's success or failure.

Happiness@work:

Find happiness everwhere

Published in ET Corporate Dossier, 2nd Mar 2012. Professor Srikumar Rao is the author of Are You Ready To Succeed? He consults with companies on creating engaged workforces.

Question: I agree with you that one should find meaning in ones work, but that is impossible for me. I don't save lives like a doctor, I don't build bridges like an engineer, I don't discover laws of nature like a scientist. I just do meaningless accounting for a big company. What should I do?

Srikumar Rao: I said earlier that passion does not exist in the job, it exists in you. The same principle holds here. Meaning does not exist in the job, it exists in what YOU bring to it! I met a physician at a party recently and he was railing at how little compensation he received from a government programme he participated in. He was livid as he described how much work was involved and how he "deserved" to be paid much more. And, mind you, he was quite well off - certainly in the top 5% of all income earners. It was not apparent that he derived much meaning from his work.

At that same party I met a nurse whose compensation was a fraction of the physician's. But her face was aglow as she told me how one of "her" patients had sent her a basket of home-made snacks after being discharged from the hospital. She felt personally responsible for each of the patients she had assigned to her and found all kinds of ingenious ways to help them. And the patients reciprocated and her life was full.

Consider this quote by the teacher Tarthang Tulku. It has profound meaning and when you truly understand it, you will find deep purpose in life as well. "Caring about our work, liking it, even loving it, seems strange when we see work only as a way to make a living. But when we see work as a way to deepen and enrich all of our experience, each one of us can find this caring within our hearts, and awaken it in those around us, using every aspect of our work to learn and grow...Every kind of work can be a pleasure.

Even simple household tasks can be an opportunity to exercise and expand our caring, our effectiveness, our responsiveness. As we respond with caring and vision to all work, we develop our capacity to respond fully to all of life. Every action generates positive energy which can be shared with others. These qualities of caring and responsiveness are the greatest gift we can offer."

Best Regards,
