If I understand your chart correctly, you are omitting COLAs which can play a significant factor. While we can't bet on future COLAs continuing to be higher than reasonable investment opportunities, I'm glad that I deferred taking SS before (or during) these years of high COLAs. Yes, people already drawing SS get COLAs but their previous SS payments are being devalued by these same COLAs. Yet another reason to defer SS as long as you can.
