What about what's best for the country as a whole, attempting to reign in the out of control federal spending and national debt, etc...and those things are just part of that much bigger picture? I don't think anyone has an issue discussing how decisions that are made in Washington can affect all of our benefits and retirement - we're all concerned about that - but think we can do so while trying to remain above the fray of political finger pointing.

Exactly. We're all subscribed to the group for TSP advice, not advice on politics.

So when the Congress takes up the issue of whether to allow outside mutual funds in the TSP, we don't discuss it?
