So do you see this divergence between the two funds as market weakness? Which fund would you jump in, when and if the time comes? C OR S?
Small caps (S fund) are usually the leading indicator of where the market is headed. In a bear market, they fall first and farthest. In a bull market, they are the first to rise and usually rise the fastest.
We are in a bear market at this point, at least with respect to small caps.
When the market turns bullish, the S fund should be the place to be, at least for the first year.
