Re: [TSPStrategy] Tsp and _not_ trading

Re: [TSPStrategy] Tsp and _not_ trading

Thanks, but if the latest move to S "was predicated on the expected 'Santa Claus Rally'," that's a short term move/expectation that misfired (as you said).  It would be very useful to know if Sarah and others who made that move are staying "parked" in S for the longer-term in hopes that it will crawl out of that hole, or did she/anyone switch to another fund since Nov?  Thanks again.

To be clear.  TSP Strategy is not a short term trading group.  Not a swing trading or intermediate trading group.  The horizon is much further and can properly be classified as a long term trading group.  Sarah attempts to time the market once or twice a year.  The move to the S fund a few months ago was predicated on the expected 'Santa Claus Rally."    In most years that works, it didn't in 2021.   To avoid trading park your money in one of the funds and keep it there.

Re: [TSPStrategy] Metaverse/Cryptos/Blockchain/NFT's and other casino gambling

excerpts from the book "The Millionaire Next Door"
  1. self-discipline  - "Wealth is more often the result of a lifestyle of hard work, perseverance, planning, and, most of all, self-discipline."
  2. defense (of capital, don't lose it by gambling) - "The foundation stone of wealth accumulation is defense, and this defense should be anchored by budgeting and planning."
  3. sacrifice "...being a well-educated, high-income earner does not automatically translate into financial independence. It takes planning and sacrificing."

The money I've been making in the NFT space is flipping post mint and pre reveal. I learned my lesson early minting a Mekaverse at .2 eth ($600 at the time) and passing on offers of 7+ eth (24k$) only to watch it crater to sub eth levels. It's climbed back a bit now and I still hold. Since then I've taken my expensive education and will mint the project I believe to have "hype" and sell them before the reveal date is scheduled. Recently I purchased a Psychedelics Anonymous Genesis for .088 and sold for 1.5. It's a bit of a grind, but has worked better for me than holding.

I've also found success in Top Shot, although that is more like the old days of sports cards and getting lucky pulling a rookie with a piece of bubble gum. I opened a pack a few days ago which had a Lebron James debut in it worth $10000. Top Shot deals in USD vs ETH.

Its all early and definitely takes a leap of faith while earning your lumps. Overall I'm doing well in it, but it's a time commitment to stay on top of a very volatile market.

Good Luck!

[TSPStrategy] Tsp and _not_ trading

The TSP is _not _ designed to trade

You can do =>2<= moves per month, plus perhaps a 3rd move if it is to G fund, which is essentially cash.

If you need the "action" of a casino, then go to a casino, there is a reason they have cheap meals and cheap booze,

the players losing money are paying for everything

It's not even a zero sum game, as the casino takes its varish and everyone loses eventually

Don't gamble with _your_ retirement funds.

This is the TSP discussion group, a conservative group, conserving retirement funds mostly using time
