I was just curious since others were comparing CSRS to FERS I had not seen anyone mention the supplement, Since I retired early at age 52 under an early out I had to be creative and was fortunate to have a substantial TSP balance, but when my supplement kicks in next year I will be receiving more than what a CSRS employee would receive at the same grade. My HR specialist says "We no longer compute this supplement for employees" so, if other agency HR depts are like ours, that might be a reason people might not be aware of the FERS annuity supplement.

Looking back at previous retirement estimates when HR did include the annuity supplement, it appears that the computation was incorrect (or based on incorrect figures). That may be why HR stopped including it and now leaves the responsibility to employees. Sigh.
